Hello from Mongolia

Hello One and all,

So sorry it took so long to get logged in here. We have been very busy and then had no access to the internet. We had great flights, although it did take 25 hours and we were wiped out when we got here. We are staying in a nice little apartment, a guest house, and finding it very comfortable. It is definitely not a mud hut in Africa. After our arrival Friday night we rested most of the morning Saturday and then in the afternoon went to a water baptism at the church. About 15 people were baptized in water and what a sight it was. Most of the people in the church are under 20 years old, in fact they said 70% were under 20. I have never seen such an exciting water baptism and it has definitely upped the expectations for what water baptism should be. It is so much like what I imagine the book of Acts to have been like.
Sunday we attended church and shared a bit and then our friend Bill Davidson shared the Word. There is such hunger here for the move of God it makes me feel somewhat ashamed and then a bit indignant that we do not have the same hunger for God evidenced in our lives in America. Now, I mean the church in general, not all of you dear friends, or all the Christians in America. I wish you all could be here with us because I feel sure that a fire would be ignited or re-ignited in you as you witness the enthusiasm with which these young Mongolians seek after the Lord.

I will try to check in again asap. Sorry if this is a bit choppy....still a bit wiped out from the travel and the busy-ness. Having a grand time and truly do wish you were here. We will try to post pictures, but can make no promises as to when. Doing the best we can.
Love,
Barb (and Rick)

  1. Good to hear that you arrived, however frazzled. We're looking forward to hearing more of how the ministering is going, and hopefully something of your itinery so we can share with our group, and also follow you along with Google Earth. Wouldn't it be something to see your guest abode, and the place where you gather together in the Lord's name? We were delighted and surprised at the age of the congregation, knowing that they have such a great start in building a dynamic group of believers. PTL. Greet your fellow travelers, letting them know that they aren't forgotten in our prayers, as well as those to whom you are encouraging.

All of you are in our prayers daily and as often as the Lord leads.
